Overdene House care home in Winsford is introducing a new holistic therapy programme to resident care plans.

The Namaste care programme provides ‘person-centre care’ to the most vulnerable of residents and will comprise of hourly sessions several times a week in a calm and relaxed environment.

Cath Burns, Overdene House home manager, said: “There is nothing better or indeed more important to me and my team than to see our residents smile.

“This program allow them to enjoy down time with their loved ones, in the calm relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. It is holistic, empathic and kindcare and exactly what we strive for here at Overdene House.”

Pairing pleasant aromas, seasonal displays, music and nature sounds, the relaxing programme encourages good nutrition with a variety of healthy snacks and drinks in each session to keep residents hydrated and to help reduce weight loss.

Namaste encourages relaxation, improves sleep and increases appetite by boosting the senses with the use of scent and massage.

Overdene House, located in John Street, offers short and long-term care to elderly members of the community needing Residential and Nursing Care.
