A 10-YEAR-OLD girl from Winsford has been crowned an MMA champion for age division.

Brooke Goodrum, a student at Winsford High Street Primary School, started taking part in Muay Thai lessons just two and half years ago – and now has multiple winning titles under her belt.

Entering at the youngest end of the age division, at the age of eight, the youngster won the English Open tournament against a high school student at the other end of the age bracket.

She went on to secure the title again the following year.

Brooke said: “It makes me happy and proud and I feel thankful of all the people who have supported me and helped to train me.

"Because the next tournament will be the last year in the eight to 11 category, I want to be able to win back-to-back world open tournaments"

She trains at The Den Muay Thai and MMA gym in Winsford with Jaimie Elton and Craig Higgerson.

Her father, Ryan van Emmenis, said: “I’m incredibly proud of what she has achieved at such a young age. She is a credit to her family and deserves to know just how talented and special she is.”

Now, Brooke has taken the World Open Championship by storm, winning the title after turning 10 this year.
