A SCHOOL in Winsford remembered a former pupil when moving a tribute placed in the school grounds.

Olly Emery defied the odds given by doctors monitoring his Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH) and started school in September 2015 at Hebden Green.

In February 2016, the three-year-old died in February 2016 following a brave battle with the rare genetic condition since birth.

A wooden train was placed in the school yard in memory of Olly, who attended the school for five months.

He met new friends and particularly enjoyed their hydro pool according to his aunt Rebecca Starkey, who will be running the Leeds 10k on July 8 in his memory and to raise money for Hebden Green to continue running “the best outstanding specialist school for those who need additional help and support.”
