WEAVER Vale Housing Trust is about to embark on what it describes as its ‘most ambitious development plan to date’ as it looks to build more than 600 new homes.

The housing provider has unveiled plans to build hundreds of new, affordable homes across Cheshire, saying it will build more than 125 homes a year over the next five years.

Wayne Gales, chief executive of Weaver Vale Housing Trust: “The Trust is the only landlord wholly based in west Cheshire. We provide more than 6,200 affordable homes, but we realised we needed to do more to address the growing demand for good quality housing locally.

“That is why we are investing heavily in building new homes for people across Cheshire.

“These new homes are just the start – and we are now in a great position to deliver. We are open for business and we want to work with partners to provide people with the homes they need.”

Weaver Vale will be offering a variety of housing options – from homes available for affordable rent to the shared ownership – where people buy a share in a home and pay rent on the share they don't own.

Housing provider’s like Weaver Vale are leading the way when it comes to tackling a nationwide housing crisis, with the UK Government recently confirming a £2 billion funding increase for towards the building of new homes.
