REPAIRS to the Hartford Blue Bridge will require the westbound carriageway of the A556 near Hartford to be closed.
The Chester-bound carriageway will be closed overnight from Monday, November 20, for up to five nights between 9pm and 5.30am.
The closure will be between Davenham roundabout and the traffic signal junction at School Lane.
The council’s cabinet member for environment, Cllr Karen Shore said: “The closure is required in order to replace the bridge deck joints.
“The expansion joints were installed in the late nineties and the bridge is on a very busy route. An investigation has revealed that the joints are beyond repair and need to be replaced before the coming winter to safeguard this important route.”
There will be a signed diversion through Winsford using the A533, A5018 and the A54.
