THE Winsford Art Trail is now underway.

Artwork from 32 artists will be on display across 19 venues in the town throughout September.

The Winsford Art Trail, now in its second year, was officially opened by Cllr Gina Lewis, deputy mayor of Winsford, and Anne and Derek Johnson from CrossHatch Gallery and Makerspace Winsford.

The launch event was held at The Red Lion Winsford, which is also the gallery for the Art Trail, had more than 30 representatives from the creative and business communities.

Derek said: “This year has seen a rise from 20 entrants to 32, showing support and the need for such an event that displays the considerable talent within Winsford and surrounding area.

“There are 19 venues across the town, from Over through Winsford Cross Shopping Centre and High Street up to Wharton.”

He added: “One aim of CrossHatch and the trail is to develop links between art and more contemporary Technological procedures.

“A sense of enquiry and curiosity is crucial, to go beyond providing the recreational to the questioning and more challenging concepts that keep us actively and mentally stimulated.”
