A PLAN has been submitted to turn an electrical contractor’s shop into a vet’s surgery in Winsford.

The application has been made for the change of use of thepremises of the former Vale Lighting, at 114 Middlewich Road by the agent Veterinary Design Services, of 140 High Street, Royal Wootton Bassett.

In a statement to Cheshire West and Chester Council planners, the agent said: “The proposal is for a ‘small animal’ veterinary practice to serve 2,000 potential local clients. The existing parking area, as used by the current occupant, will be retained and re-used.

“All the general accommodation works will be internal, to provide an attractive client reception, diagnostic consultation and rearclinical areas.

“There will be new partitioning, plumbing and drainage work and specialist finishes. The existing dilapidated shopfront glazing and door will be replaced along with several existing windows.

“The front elevation will be made good and repainted but retaining existing colours. Some minor landscaping works behind the toilet block, will provide an additional parking space.”

Access to the west of the building will allow for the creation of a ramped pathway and a single parking space in the front of the building which will be designated as a space for disabled customers.
