CHESHIRE Fire and Rescue Service has issued tips on kitchen safety after crews were called out to a cooking fire in Winsford.
Fire engines from Winsford and Middlewich were sent to Middlewich Road at 2.23pm today, Tuesday, to deal with an oven fire.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said: “The fire, which was inside an oven, was out on arrival of the fire crews and they used a large fan to clear smoke from the property.”
According to the fire service, more than half of accidental fires at home are started by cooking - often when cookers and grills are left unattended.
