POLICE have confirmed that St Chad’s Primary School in Winsford was vandalised in similar way to that of the Darnhall Village Hall last week.

Darnhall Village Hall was vandalised beyond recognition earlier this week, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage and a war memorial being spray painted over.

Spray painted ‘tags’ of WYF, believed to stand for ‘Wharton Youth Firm’, were seen all over the property.

Police have now confirmed that similar damage was caused to St Chad’s School last week, and investigations are ongoing.

It is not clear yet whether the two incidents are related.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “I can confirm that officers are investigating an incident that occurred at St Chads School on Gladstone street, Winsford.

“Sometime between 2pm on July 30 and 3pm on August 2 an unknown offender/offenders accessed the site and force entry into a shed in the pre-school area.

“Once inside the shed they stole a number of tubes of paint and daubed it over the exterior of the building before fleeing the scene.

“Investigations are ongoing and at the current time it is not yet know if the incident is linked to the incident at Darnhall Village Hall.

“Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 719 of August 2.”
