ARSONISTS set a caravan on fire in Dee Way last night.

Firefighters from Winsford and Northwich were called to Dee Way at 10.11pm where they found a caravan was well alight.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said: “A caravan was heavily involved in fire next to single storey garages on Dee Way.

“Firefighters, two in breathing apparatus, used two hose reel jets to tackle the blaze and then dampened down the area.

“Police were asked to attend as it is believed the fire was started deliberately.”

Firefighters also attended a small fire in Weaver Valley Road earlier in the night at 7.51pm.

Firefighters used a water backpack to extinguish a small fire involving branches in the woods by a car park.

This comes after arsonists targeted a building in Cheviot Square on Friday last week.

Three children have since been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life in relation to the Cheviot Square fire.
