FIRE crews tackled two fires in Winsford yesterday - one a suspected arson attack.

At 4.25pm firefighters were called to Bradford Road where branches had been set on fire near to the rangers office.

A spokesman said: “The Winsford crew put out a small fire involving branches after it was deliberately set on fire. They used water to extinguish the flames. Call police on 101 if you know anything about who may have started it.”

Earlier, at 3am, a fence panel and a small amount of rubbish were found on fire in Forest Road.

One fire engine attended.
