THE Mayor of Winsford joined visitors at a social enterprise open day to mark National Volunteers Week.

Changing Lives in Cheshire, based at Winsford Industrial Estate, received 40 new visitors on Thursday, June, 1 which allowed the enterprise to sign up new volunteers.

CLiC aims to provide people on low income the opportunity to access good quality items for the home at a low cost.

It also provides employment, training and development opportunities for people as well as enabling the re-use and recycling of waste to protect the environment.

Cllr Mike Kennedy, Mayor of Winsford, said: “I was extremely pleased to attend the volunteers open day.

“However this was not just a day to volunteer it was a day to learn how volunteering helps to gain valuable skills or experience for employment, an issue close to my heart.

The enterprise helped more than 3,000 families across Cheshire last year.
