THE first of the region’s council houses in decades, being built in Winsford, will be showcased at a launch event next Saturday.

Woodford Grange is a £47 million new housing development built by Keepmoat Homes.

The scheme comprises 401 new homes, of which 130 will be built on behalf Cheshire West and Chester Council – the first local authority housing in the region for nearly 40 years.

HomesHub is selling 20 three bedroom homes for Shared Ownership on behalf of the council.

The launch event on Saturday, June 3, is a chance for potential buyers to find out more about the new homes.

Alison Knight, director of places strategy at CWAC, said: “Woodford Grange is the first opportunity for many years where new houses are being built on behalf of a local authority.

“This is an exciting chance to buy a home in a newly redeveloped area which is seeing a great deal of investment and new homes.

"Prices start from just £59,500 for a 35 per cent share. Winsford is the first location in west Cheshire with new houses also being built in Ellesmere Port and Neston.”

At the launch event, HomesHub advisors will be on hand to explain the options available to customers and there will also be a financial advisor available for customers to chat to.

Alison Gittins, Head of Sales at HomesHub said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to buy their first home but are priced out of buying a property on the open market.

"With Shared Ownership customers can buy their own home with a smaller mortgage and deposit, meaning they can be part of a new community, living in a brand new home with affordable monthly payments.

"The properties are finished to an excellent standard and would make ideal family homes.”

The show home is in plot 31 not in the Keepmoat cabin and will be open from 10am to 2pm.

Claire Nangle, land and p Director for Keepmoat Homes North West, added: “This major new development has something for everyone, and it’s an honour to be building the first local authority housing in the area in decades.

"We’re delighted to have completed the show home on behalf of the council so they can now provide customers with a glimpse of what life will be like at Woodford Grange; and we hope to launch another show home for customers looking to buy one of our new designs in the coming months.”
