A CHARITABLE football tournament and family fun day will be held in Whitegate on Saturday in memory of Mike Clarke, who died following a heart attack while playing for Whitegate Football Club.

Mike died on September 11, 2015, aged 29, just six days after he collapsed while playing for Whitegate FC.

Last year, his sister Katie Bridges organised a football match in memory of Mike, to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

After the success of last year, Katie, is hosting another football tournament and fun day to raise funds for a heart screening programme for 14 to 35-year-olds in the area.

The event will feature a seven-a-side football tournament, a family fun day, a barbeque, live music, raffle and auction.

Items in the auction include a signed Manchester united football and Charity Shield tickets.

It will take place at Whitegate football field opposite The Plough.
