AN 18-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following a serious assault in Witton Street.

A 21-year-old man suffered a punctured lung after he was attacked by a group of men following a dispute inside Yankees takeaway in Witton Street around 2.30am on Sunday, March 19.

The group of men were sat next to a silver taxi, which was waiting on the junction of Albion Way and Venables Road, when they assaulted the victim, who was on his own.

They punched him to the ground and kicked him before fleeing the scene in the taxi.

The victim was taken to hospital in an ambulance with breathing difficulties and was later diagnosed with a punctured lung.

A police spokesman has now confirmed that an 18-year-old man from Winsford has been arrested in relation to the incident and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, both from Winsford, have also been questioned in relation to the incident after voluntarily attending Northwich Police Station.

The incident remains on-going at the current time.

One of the attackers is described as having short blonde hair and wearing a black top and blue jeans.

A second man has short brown hair with short stubble and was wearing a Fred Perry cream top.
