A FATHER-OF-TWO from Winsford, who needs to raise £60,000 for life-changing surgery, is looking for help in hosting a fundraising event.

Martin Tomlinson, 34, from Stocks Hill, suffers from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

The condition has plagued his life for 14 years, causing regular dislocations of his neck, and he has been told that it will get progressively worse and may eventually paralyse him.

Martin needs to raise £60,000 by April 2017 for a rare operation that he would have to go to Barcelona to receive.

At the time of going to press Martin has raised £4,400 through donations and is now looking to kick on with fundraising through various events.

The first of which will be a party night at Winsford Conservative Club on Friday, March 10, at 7.30pm.

There will be a disco, comedy, and a raffle, and Martin is appealing to Winsford businesses to donate items or services for the raffle.

Martin said: “We’re hoping for a fun night with a raffle and auction, so we're still looking for more donations of items or services from local businesses.”

To buy a ticket, costing £5, or to offer a donation for the raffle, call Martin on 07976139465.
