ASDA in Winsford has closed its ground floor car park due to concerns that debris found there could be coming from the store’s roof.

Storm Doris is causing multiple complications around the town, and its latest victim is the Asda car park.

Staff confirmed that they have closed the car park due to finding metal sheets on it.

A spokesman for Asda said: “Two metal sheets were found in the car park and at this point, we don’t know where they have come from.

“The main car park has been closed for the time being while we carry out inspection to check that they have not come from our roof.

“We don’t believe they have come from the roof at this point but we can’t be sure until we have assessed the situation properly.”

The store remains open and the multi-storey car park is also open.
