ANTI-SOCIAL behaviour is ‘on the rise again’ in Winsford Town Centre, according to police.

The Northwich Police NPU posted on Facebook that reports of ASB in the town centre are increasing, particularly in the area of Barclays bank.

The post stated: “Sadly, anti-social behaviour is on the rise again in Winsford Town Centre, particularly in the area outside Barclays bank.

“Please remind your children that there is CCTV in the area and they are being watched. Foolish, destructive and intimidating behaviour will not be tolerated.

“The town centre is a place for everyone to use and enjoy. Let’s keep it that way.”

Insp Dave Snasdell told the Guardian that the post relates largely to incidents of deliberate fires.

Insp Dave Snasdell said: “We have had a number of incidents where kids causing anti-social behaviour and setting fire to the bins there.

“It’s sheltered and that’s why it attracts kids to congregate there but if it continues, we may have to look at shutting it off at night.

“Please contact police on 101 if you know anything about this or have witnessed any anti-social behaviour.”
