FOUR houses are set to be built in Swanlow Lane on a site that has been an ‘eyesore for some time’ according to Winsford Town Council.

The infill site in Swanlow Lane, which was previously used by Martins Double Glazing before the company relocated, will have four houses built on it.

An application made to Cheshire West and Chester Council from Swanlow Developments, has been given full approval.

The plans are to build two detached properties and one pair of semi-detached properties, adjoining the residential properties in Swanlow Lane and a bungalow in Russell Road.

The town council gave its backing to the plans, describing the land as an ‘eyesore’.

Giving feedback on a meeting of the town council’s planning committee, town council clerk Mark Bailey said: “Members generally welcomed the fact that the area is being dealt with and developed, as it has been an eyesore for some time.”

Permission was granted for the planning application, subject to a Section 106 funding contribution from Swanlow Developments, to go towards ‘off-site open/play space’.
