A SCREENING event will be held at Winsford Asda on Saturday to help detect early signs prostate cancer.

The PSA blood testing event, ran by the Leighton Hospital Prostate Cancer Support Group, will be held at the supermarket in The Drumber on Saturday, November 26, from 10am to 2pm.

No appointment is needed, and all men over the age of 50 are welcome to turn up and get tested.

The screening takes around five minutes and the group asks for a donation of £10 to help cover costs.

Gary Steele, chairman of the Leighton Hospital Prostate Cancer Support Group, said: “Everyday 130 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, everyday more than one man dies every hour from prostate cancer. And 80 per cent of men diagnosed with prostate cancer did not have any symptoms.”

“Come along, who knows, it just might save your life.”
