A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy from Winsford will become the youngest printed designer this Christmas after his reindeer design will be made into Christmas cards by Lidl.

Lukas Currie has won this year’s Lidl Christmas card competition and his design is set to hit the shelves in Lidl later this month as part of a collection in partnership with charity CLIC Sargent.

Lidl UK ran a competition on Facebook last year, which encouraged customers to get children of all ages involved in creating 2016’s charity Christmas card.

Lukas’ inventive design, which transforms his footprint into Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, was chosen by CLIC Sargent to be featured in this year’s full collection and will see 25p per pack donated to the charity.

Daniela Tulip, head of CSR at Lidl, said: “We’d like to thank all the children that got creative and shared their wonderful Christmas card designs with us, and we’re happy to congratulate Lukas on being chosen by CLIC Sargent to be featured in the collection as the youngest ever printed designer.

“At Lidl UK, we’re very much committed to involving our local communities and giving back to our partner charities, so it’s great to see these designs brought to life for a good cause, and we look forward to them going on sale across our UK stores.”

Landing in stores from 24th November, customers will be able to purchase the full Christmas card collection, including Lukas’ inventive print, for 99p per pack. The charity Christmas cards will be available while stocks last in Lidl’s UK stores.

Fern McDonald, fundraising manager at CLIC Sargent, said: “It’s been great to be able to get children involved in such a creative competition, and Lukas’ winning design makes a wonderful addition to Lidl’s Christmas card collection.

“We’re delighted to be working with Lidl on this, not just because the donations will help support our specialist cancer care teams, but because it will help raise further awareness of what we’re trying to achieve as a charity across the country.”
