SIX fire engines from across Cheshire were sent to Winsford this evening to tackle a huge blaze at a group of disused office buildings opposite the Morrisons Manufacturing warehouse.
The fire, in several office buildings at the site off Wharton Road, was reported at 5.06pm, and firefighters from Winsford, Holmes Chapel, Crewe, Northwich, Knutsford and Sandbach were sent to the scene to tackle the fire.
The crews took more around 2 hours 20 minutes to bring the fire under control and it has now been extinguished.
Firefighters have now set up floodlights and are expected to still be on the scene for some time dampening down the area.
Cheshire Police are also on the scene. Police closed off Wharton area, causing large disruptions to motorists, but the road has now been reopened.
