STUDENT police have hit Winsford in force today as part of an operation to engage with the public.
Operation Treacle has been launched by Cheshire Police and has seen 30 student officers, who are towards the end of their training, patrolling the town.
The student officers have been seen outside all schools in Winsford and around certain housing estates.
The aim is to engage with the public and provide some reassurance of police presence around the Halloween and Bonfire night time.
A police spokesman said: “We’ve got 30 student officers towards the end of their training around the town doing some community engagement.
“They will be mainly going around some housing estates such as St John’s and the Wharton Estate and handing out leaflets and the ‘yes or no’ flyers for trick or treaters.
“The main aim of the operation is to engage with the public so if you see them, stop and chat.”
