THIS year’s Dog Show at Weaver Valley Parkway in Winsford will be expanding out to be ‘more of a family fun day’.

The Dog Show, run by Willows Vets and raising money for the Friends of Weaver Valley Parkway, will take place on Sunday, September 11, and will have plenty on offer for all ages.

The Dog Show, now in its fifth year, is the main fundraising event of the year for the Friends of Weaver Valley Parkway, and volunteers of the group are hoping to see bigger crowds than ever.

Karen Swift, from the Weaver Valley Parkway, said: “We’re hoping it will be bigger than the last ones.

“It’s more of a family fun day now with a dog show on the side and hopefully that will encourage more people to come, it’s not just for people with dogs.

“It’s our main fundraiser. We have volunteers going out every week clearing and picking and this is our main chance to make sure these volunteers can keep going out.

“The money raised pays for the equipment we use and any materials such as grit for gritting the paths.”

The Dog Show will run from noon to 4pm and will feature dancers, ice cream and hot food, the St Luke’s bus and the dog show itself.
