RESIDENTS of Northwich and Winsford are being urged to have their say on where land for employment and other sites should be built in their area.
Cheshire West and Chester Council is holding a consultation for the second part of its Local Plan which will support part one and provide detailed plans of land provision.
Included within the plan for Northwich are sites identified to meet employment needs at Gadbrook Park in Rudheath, Cheshire Business Park in Lostock Gralam, land near Pear Tree Farm Cottages off Davenham Road in Rudheath, and at Cosgrove Business Park in Barnton.
The Winsford map shows employment land provision surrounding Morrisons warehouse at Wharton Green, land by Winsford Railway Station and at Woodford Park Industrial Estate near to Cheshire Police HQ.
Cllr Brian Clarke, cabinet member for economic development and infrastructure, said: “I would encourage residents and businesses to respond to the Local Plan (part two) consultation. This plan is an important document that will help shape development and environmental protection in the borough through to 2030.”
The Cheshire West and Chester Local Plan will provide the overall vision, strategic objectives, spatial strategy and strategic planning policies for the borough to 2030.
Part one of the Local Plan was adopted in January 2015 and is the starting point when considering planning applications.
Part two contains land allocation and a detailed policies plan and residents and businesses are now being asked for their views on this part.
The consultation is an early stage of the plan making process and will enable the council to consider views before the plan is finalised.
Consultation started on Friday last week with comments to be received by 5pm on Friday, September 23. Copies of the plan will be available at local libraries, customer service centres and on the council’s website at cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/localplan.
