INSURANCE agent Daniel Jennings is to ‘Brave the Shave’ to raise money for a charity which is very close to his heart.

Daniel, 35, is to have his head shaved at The Barber Shop in Northwich on Saturday, August 6, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Cancer has a special meaning for Daniel, having lost his mum Josephine and sister Joanna Every to the disease.

In addition his dad Alan has just finished a course of chemotherapy as part of treatment for cancer.

Daniel has signed up for the Macmillan Cancer Support Brave The Shave fundraiser, which has signed up 11,600 people this year, raising £974,000 in the process.

Daniel lives in Winsford, and will be having his head shaved by Daniel Bebbington, who owns The Barber Shop in Witton Street, where Daniel is a long-time customer, at 11am.

“Within the past six years I have lost my mum at the age of 55 and my sister at the age of 32 to cancer,” said Daniel.

“My dad is currently having treatment for cancer - he has been through radiotherapy, has now finished his chemotherapy and is awaiting another operation.

“Macmillan Cancer Support have been there throughout for us as a family.

“As a team we did Tough Mudder in 2014 and raised money for Macmillan, and Brave the Shave is another opportunity to be able to give something back.

“For those who know me, I have never had my head shaved and it will be huge for me to get rid of my hair, but this is the most worthy cause. Please dig deep to support my fundraising head shave.”

Daniel works as an insurance agent in Altrincham, and is the treasurer of the Mid Cheshire Manchester City Supporters Club.

He is well on the way to reaching his target of raising £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, having raised £780 on the Brave the Shave online page - https://bravetheshave.org.uk/shavers/daniel-jennings/

Daniel Bebbington is giving £100 to the fundraiser, and the head shave is also being supported by staff at his barber’s shop.

Tough Mudder is a popular but gruelling obstacle race.
