A CARE home in Winsford which provides specialist support to young people with autism and Asperger’s Syndrome is set to expand.

Bank Hall Farm in Swanlow Lane provides 24/7 residential care and has now secured planning permission from Cheshire West and Chester Council to expand its premises and car park.

The care home is now free to build a one-storey extension onto the side of the current building which will provide additional staff accommodation, as well as an extension to the car park and vehicle access from Swanlow Lane.

Winsford Town Council objected to the application on Highways issues, citing the increase in traffic on Swanlow Lane and the visibility splays, however planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council dismissed the concerns with a condition to the approval.

Liza Woodray, planning case officer, said: “It is considered necessary to require the applicant to install the splays before any work on the access is undertaken. Unless this can be achieved, the access will not be constructed.”
