A HEALTHCARE business decided to donate 25p for every hour its nurses worked on International Nurses’ Day to St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford.

To mark the annual day in recognition of the work nurses do and to recognise the care provided by its nurses, staff at Jane Lewis in Crewe nominated the hospice as the recipient of its yearly Nurses’ Day donation, which this year amounted to £180.

Carmen Eardley, Jane Lewis branch manager, said: “Through providing staffing support to St Luke’s we became aware of the fantastic service it provides patients as well as the hard work and skill of its nurses. We are very happy to be able to support the hospice with our Nurses’ Day donation.”

The funds donated by Jane Lewis will go towards maintaining the excellent respite care at the hospice, provided by its team of committed nurses.

Damon Cripps, corporate partnerships manager, said: “Without such generous supporters as Jane Lewis, St Luke’s Hospice couldn’t deliver its very special and precious care to patients and families affected by life threatening illness within mid-Cheshire. It is a privilege and pleasure to work with Jane Lewis and we can’t say thank you enough.”
