CHILDREN and pupils at Darnhall Primary School celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday with a family picnic last week.
The school held a picnic and tea party to celebrate the Queen’s landmark birthday on Wednesday, June 8.
Children had photos sat on a throne, made crowns, sang the happy birthday song and the national anthem and had a picnic on the lawn with their families.
Ten-year-old Sophie Woods also played the national anthem on her clarinet.
Vicki Healey, teaching assistant at Darnhall Primary School, said: “The feedback from the parents and children was that it was a fantastic day.
“The weather was really good as well and we had sports day on the same day so it was a wonderful day.”
