TOTS at Winsford High Street School Nursery were given a taste of life as a firefighter last week.

Firefighters from Winsford Fire Station visited the school to teach the little ones about fire safety.

The children were given a go on the firefighter’s hose, which proved to be a success with the kids.

Andy Palmer, one of the firefighters who went along to the school, said: “We had a great time with the nursery children at High Street School and spoke to them about fire safety as part of our visit.

“The children also had a tour of the fire engine and we showed them what clothes we wear and the equipment we use at 999 calls.

“They couldn’t wait to squirt water from the hose, so before we left we let them all have a turn, which was great fun.”
