YOUNGSTERS on the Winsford Prince's Trust programme will take to the streets to feed the homeless.

As part of the 12-week programme – which is led by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service – the team has chosen to work with the homeless charity, Coffee4Craig.

To raise money for the challenge the team will be bag packing in a supermarket.

They are also asking people if they can help by donating sleeping bags, tents and toiletries in small sizes.

The money raised by bag packing will be used to buy ingredients for making curry, Scouse and sandwiches, which the team then take out to homeless people over two nights in Manchester.

Jenny Pye, assistant project manager for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service Winsford Prince's Trust Team, said: “The Prince’s Trust Team Programme aims to move young people to gain confidence to move into full time employment.

“Doing this challenge will help them to gain practical experience, confidence in meeting people from all walks of life and also skills in how to project manage and budget."

Anyone who is able to donate sleeping bags, tents and toiletries can either drop them into Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service headquarters on Sadler Road by Friday, April 22.

Items can be collected from the immediate Winsford area by calling Jenny Pye on 07875 565095.
