ST Luke’s Hospice has launched a new campaign urging supporters to commit to donating regularly.

The Winsford-based hospice cares for patients who are living with a life limiting illness and their families,

St Luke’ must raise 80 per cent of its funding itself, so have launched the ‘Regular Giving’ campaign.

Regular donations enable St Luke’s to plan their work more effectively as they provide a reliable income that can be counted on in the coming months and years.

Clare Wolff, day hospice manager at St Luke’s, said: “Having a regular and sustainable income is so important to St Luke’s.

“It allows us to plan the services that we provide for the local community more effectively, as we can forecast how much money we will receive each month.

“No matter what you pledge to donate, it will make a positive difference to patient care and help us to continue our vital work.”

St Luke’s supports those living with a life limiting illness from the moment they are diagnosed.

Their specialist nursing team offers one to one care, enabling patients to live their life to the full.

The hospice also provides counselling, bereavement and complementary therapy services to the families of patients.

One patient, who received complementary therapies at St Luke’s, said: “It gave me someone to talk to, whether about cancer or other worries. I felt relaxed for the first time since my diagnosis.

“It allowed me to take some time out for ‘me’ away from home.”
