STAFF from a Winsford convenience store were left 'shaken and shocked' afte

r two thugs wielding a hammer and a knife robbed the shop.

The incident happened around 10pm on Saturday, January 30 at the McColl’s store in Cheviot Square.

Two offenders, who were wearing balaclavas, entered the shop and made threats of violence unless they handed over money.

No-one was harmed during the incident.

Inspector Dave Snasdell, from the Northwich Local Policing Unit, said: “At approximately 10pm on Saturday, January 30, a robbery occurred at McColl’s Store, Cheviot Square, Winsford.

“Two offenders wearing balaclava confronted staff with a hammer and a knife and made threats to harm them.

“They stole a quantity of cash and made off on foot into the Over Estate.

“No one was injured in the attack but the store employees have been left shaken and shocked after the incident.”

Cheshire Police are urging anyone with any information to contact 101 quoting the incident number 900 of January 30, 2016.
