STARS from the hit British film and TV show This is England will perform a DJ set in Winsford.

Thomas Turgoose and Andrew Shim, who play pivotal characters Shaun and Milky in the 2006 film, will perform and meet fans at de Bees on Saturday, February 27, from 9pm.

This is England tells the story young skinheads in England in 1983.

The film illustrates how their subculture, which has its roots in 1960s West Indian culture, became adopted by white nationalists, which led to divisions within the skinhead scene.

The group take 12-year-old Shaun Fields under their wing.

Shaun then becomes close with Andrew ‘Combo’ Gascgoine, an older skinhead with sociopathic tendencies played Stephen Graham, who went on to play Al Capone in the hit HBO series, Boardwalk Empire.

The film won the Alexander Korda Award for Best British Film at the 2007 British Academy Film Awards.

It also won the Best Film category at the 2006 British Independent Film Awards, Turgoose winning the Most Promising Newcomer award.

In 2010, a spin-off series set three years after the film, This Is England '86, was shown on Channel 4. This Is England '88, was broadcast in December 2011.

This Is England '90 was shown on 13 September 2015.
