WINSFORD's war heroes will be honoured once again during Remembrance Sunday.

The annual service of remembrance and parade will take place in Winsford on Sunday, November 8.

The parade will assemble on the drive of Wyvern House from 10.15am and will be led by the Everton Road Flute and Drum Band.

It will proceed via The Drumber, Dingle Lane, High Street and Dene Drive to the town centre through the side entrances to Fountain Court. The service itself will commence at approximately 10.45am.

Following the Act of Remembrance, the Lord Lieutenant, David Briggs will lay a wreath on behalf of the Queen.

Winsford mayor and consort, Cllr Ailsa Gaskill-Jones and Matthew Gaskill-Jones will place wreaths on the War Memorial and the Boer War memorial in memory of the Winsford men and women who gave their lives for their country.

The service will be conducted by the mayor’s Chaplain, Reverend George Crowder.

During the service, a representative of the Winsford Branch of the Royal British Legion will read out the names of those men from Winsford who lost their lives during 1915.

At the conclusion of the service, the civic party will take leave to receive the march-past in Dene Drive.
