A WINSFORD hair salon has marked its 9th year in business with a spectacular make-over.

Guyz N Dollz, which opened in 2005, has had a full refurb to mark its latest milestone, going from a contemporary modern look to a more vintage, luxurious one.

Over the years, Guyz N Dollz have seen nine apprentices complete hairdressing NVQs, and has formed close links with St Luke's Cheshire Hospice through extensive fundraising.

Leanne Sorcey, 35, owner of Guyz N Dollz, said: “Small businesses have had their fair share of ups and downs over the last nine years.

“But thank goodness we have survived the recessions and lived to tell the tale and hope to survive another nine years and many more.

“I love my town and really believe it has lots to offer. The people amaze me regularly with their generosity and without them none of the above would be possible.”

Leanne knows the salon’s success is also very much down to the hard work her staff have put in over the years.

“They work tirelessly in the salon and always help with the charity events sometimes without pay,” Leanne said. “Without all my staff over the years the salon wouldn't be where it is today.”

Of course, the salon would be nothing without their loyal customers, and Leanne said she often likes to award free pamper sessions to those in need of a pick-me-up.

She said: “There are people within our community that really have suffered hardship and still have a smile on their face these are the people that I like to treat.

“People who might not usually be able to visit the salon or might be going through rough times. These are the people that we regularly like to bring in the salon and make feel a million dollars.

“We've had little children who have been bullied at school right up to grandmas who have held their family unit together after suffering terrible family tragedy.

“These people are the real Winsford people who deserve so much more than I could ever give them but we really love to give something back.”
