A TEEN actor from Winsford is hoping to catch the attention of talent spotters when he stars in an upcoming play at the Edinburgh Festival.

Former Winsford Academy pupil Declan Baxter, 17, has been cast in Dolphin Hotel, which is set to enthral audiences at the renowned arts festival in August

Dolphin Hotel follows the story of a young woman who has been trafficked from Eastern Europe and forced to work as a prostitute.

“This will be my third time at the Edinburgh Fringe,” Declan said. “But doing a new project is so exciting.

“I think there will be something very special about showing a new play for the first time.”

Declan has already appeared in a number of productions in his young careers, including Sweeney Todd, Macbeth and Little Shop of Horrors.

“I want to go to drama school and become a professional actor,” he said.

“So I’m hoping to get as much exposure as possible and maybe even get noticed by an agent or a drama school.

“Plus the play is tackling an important issue to it needs to be seen – we need your support to make that happen.”

Thread Theatre Company will perform Dolphin Hotel at ‘The Space at Jury’s Inn’ at the Edinburgh Festival from August 15.
