THE first ever Darnhall Show has been dubbed a huge success by organisers after thousands braved the dreary weather to attend the Winsford event.

More than 3000 flocked to Darnhall Show, which was formerly called Darnhall Village Day.

The show was renamed and relocated to a new site as organisers said it had outgrown the old Village Hall site.

Along with a wealth of stalls and entertainment, attendees were treated to a spectacular horse show as well as a fun-filled dog show.

Winsford Town mayor, Alisa Gaskill Jones, also presented the trophy to the winner of the scarecrow competition.

Sue Langley, who organised the event along with her husband, Richard, said: “There was something for everyone at the show.

“From farmers market, crafts and shopping marquees, vintage tractors and wagons, Harry Sharland’s Fun Fair, Go-Karts, Cotebrook Shire Horse, trade stands, tombola, raffle and various other stalls around the show site.

“Luckily the small shower of rain didn’t stop the crowds from attending the show and many thanks to all the volunteer helpers on the gate and the scouts for parking all those cars so brilliantly.

“The feedback so far has been very positive. Yes we know we got some of it wrong but we can build on this now for future years, so yes we will be doing it all again next year. “
