FIRE crews from Winsford and Crewe are fighting to save up to five people who are trapped in a burning building following a mill explosion.
Cheshire police have declared a major incident following reports of an explosion at Wood Flour Mills, in Tunstall Road, Bosley, near Congleton.
There are multiple casualties and reports up to five people are trapped in the building, which is on fire. Several people have also been injured by the explosion.
Cheshire police tweeted that all emergency services were on site and warned local residents to close windows and doors because of smoke in the area.

Chief Inspector Paul Carroll said: “There is currently a lot of smoke emanating from the building and it is advised that residents living in the area should close their doors and windows.
"It is also advised to avoid the area while we deal with this incident.”
Cheshire East Council is asking motorists and people to avoid the Tunstall Road area of Bosley.
A total of 10 fire engines from Cheshire Fire and Rescue are attending and the air ambulance has been called to the scene.
