A WINSFORD nursery marked its tenth anniversary in style with an afternoon of celebrations.

Sunrise Nursery, in Ludlow Close, celebrated its 10th birthday on Tuesday, June 30.

The nursery is run by Over Hall Community Enterprises Limited, a registered charity that was set up and run by unpaid volunteers.

Staff, volunteers and members of the Over Hall Community Enterprises Limited all gave up their Saturday afternoon to help with the celebrations.

Natalie Moore-Copnall, who joined Sunrise in June 2005 just before the nursery opened, said: “We really wanted to have a big celebration for our 10th anniversary so we invited children and their families who have attended the nursery over the last ten years to our celebrations.

“The first child who started at Sunrise came to help release balloons for the balloon race and to help draw the raffle.”

A range of internationally-known businesses such as McDonald’s, Manchester United Football Club, Liverpool Football Club donated prizes for a charity raffle, as well as other north west organistations such as Monkey Forest, Gulliver's World, Reaseheath Zoo, Legoland and Sealife Centre.

Natalie added: “The day was a huge success and we raised more than £1000, selling cakes and refreshments, tombola, face-painting, sports games and a raffle draw.”
