ST LUKE’S Cheshire Hospice is set to bank thousands from a charity football game.

Former Port Vale and Crewe Alexandra footballer Tony Naylor has announced that the charity will benefit from the Port Vale v Crewe Alexandra legends match.

The game last year featured a Vale v Stoke legends team and raised more than £20,000 for Charity.

The game will be played at Vale Park on Sunday, July 26.

Dario Gradi will take charge of an Alex team expected to feature the likes of Neil Lennon, Craig Hignett, Kenny Lunt, Shaun Smith, Steve Macauley, Ashley Ward and Lee Unsworth.

Mark Porter, corporate and community fundraiser for St Luke’s, said: “Thank you to Tony for choosing St Luke’s as the charity from South Cheshire.

“We are very grateful to Tony and Kevin Jones whose companies ICL and manorshop.com are sponsoring the game and we hope that it is a tremendous success.

“I know last year’s game was very good and made a phenomenal amount of money for charity and this year with some of the names playing like Neil Lennon could be even bigger.

“We hope that it is a great event and everyone here at St Luke’s is right behind the game.”

Tickets are on sale now at Crewe Alexandra’s Ticket Office priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children.
