A WINSFORD charity is urging people to vote for them in a community awards scheme so they can secure £10,000.

The NeuroMuscular Centre (NMC) is seeking a grant from the Aviva Community Fund, which offers individuals and groups the chance to secure funding for an important cause in your community.

The Winsford-based charity, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, provides services and specialist advice for adults with muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular conditions.

The NMC also offers adults and young people with muscular dystrophy free training opportunities in Digital Graphic/Web Design.

The project the NMC is aiming to help fund is called ‘Training for students with muscular dystrophy’.

Kay Briggs, graphic design training tutor at the NMC, said “Over the past few months we have struggled with out of date software, slow running computers and lack of funding for a group trip.

“We really need your help to give our students the group trip out, support and equipment that they really deserve.”

The projects with the most votes by May 30, 2015, will go through to the final to be judged by an impartial panel and five successful entries within their category will win £10,000.

To vote, please visit community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/Project/View/2954. Once registered you will be able to cast up to ten votes by searching for the project.
