WINSFORD Town Council has agreed to spend almost £5,000 to replace the council’s ageing furniture.
The sum of £5,000 is included in the current year’s capital programme for the supply of new office furniture.
The council sought a number of quotations for the supply of new desks, chairs and storage facilities in the main office, and a meeting table and chairs in the small meeting room.
Discussions were held with a number of companies, but the council has agreed a sum of £4,615 plus VAT with Winsford-based firm, Office Essentials.
Town Clerk Alan Warburton said: “We’ve consulted various companies but there’s actually only one who have come up with what we consider to be a reasonable option.
"Because of the layout of the office, there’s not a great deal they can do but it is a completely new set of kit, with new light ash office furniture and storage space.
"We’re looking at establishing a meeting room with six chairs around a diamond-shaped table with space for the graphic design unit at the end.”
The quotation was approved at a Winsford Town Council Finance Committee meeting on Monday, April 20.
Cllr Mike Kennedy added: “I think it will look really good, and it’s value for money.”
