A WINSFORD syndicate that planned to disband after one final Lotto draw is celebrating scooping £72,950.

The 15-strong group, now nicknamed the ‘Lucky 15’, intended to disband the syndicate after three years as their leader, Lisa Worrall, was leaving the company.

But the syndicate, who all work at ENTU in Winsford, has now vowed to continue to play after banking £4,863 each.

Lisa, 35, a trainee accountant at ENTU, who lives in Speke, said: “We all joked about how it would be great to win in our final week of play together but never actually believed it would really happen.

“I was off work on holiday so it wasn’t until I returned to work on Wednesday and opened my emails that I realised we had won.

“I just didn’t believe it at first and thought it was a joke. I just shouted other members of the syndicate over to read the email.

“We were all just staring at the computer and I don’t think any of us actually believed it was true until we called Camelot and received the confirmation.”

The syndicate plays 15 lines every week with each member choosing a line made up of their own lucky numbers, including birthdays and house numbers.

Alex Scott, 39, purchasing director, from Northwich, said: “It’s nice everyone’s got to share the win, especially on Lisa’s last day.

“Lisa’s been great, she’s organised it the last couple of years and collected all the money and placed all the numbers.

“So it’s great that she’s got something and she’s leaving us, it’s a nice memory for us all.”

Lisa, who is now planning a holiday to the Caribbean, said the news is still sinking in with members.

Antony Grocott, 27, Finance Manager, from Winsford, said: “I’ve just bought a house so I’m going to put all the money towards that. I’m going to get a big TV for the football. It’s a priority.”

Lisa added: “There is no danger of the syndicate disbanding now.”
