MORRISONS in Winsford has been deemed as having the nation’s best high street breakfast after scooping a national award.

Morrisons on Nat Lane trumped competition from other well known high street restaurants and cafés to scoop the accolade at the renowned foodservice industry awards, MIDAS.

The awards judged store’s café, which had been visited by a team of mystery diners, to have the best menu choice, value for money and service.

Danny Doherty, store general manager at Morrisons, Winsford said: “We’re thrilled that our store’s café has been voted to have the best British breakfast.

“It is testament to our strong menu, fantastic ingredients and helpful staff. Our café is extremely popular with customers.

“Many visit us at the start of the day, or stop off before or after a shopping trip. We hope that this award will encourage more people to stop by to try it out.”

The store’s award winning menu features a range of healthy options, but it is the hearty cooked breakfasts, including the renowned Big Breakfast, that set the judges pulses racing.

Morrisons has 400 cafés and serves 350,000 breakfasts and 35 million meals each year nationwide.

The breakfast menu is served every day, all day until 4pm.
