SPECSAVERS staff and customers cycled 181 miles in aid of Red Nose Day – from the Winsford store’s exercise bike.

Between March 7-14, the team from Specsavers in Winsford rode the store’s exercise bike 181 miles – the equivalent of cycling from Winsford to London.

Customers keen to saddle up helped join the quest in return for a donation to the Red Nose Day appeal.

Peter Adshead, store director at Specsavers, Winsford, said: “We’ve enjoyed this exhilarating and healthy way of supporting Red Nose Day.

“Our staff and customers have donned their best cycling attire to help us complete our mammoth challenge, while raising cash for Red Nose Day.”

Visitors could also get into the spirit of Red Nose Day with Specsavers’ official Red Nose Day glasses, in sizes large and small, with £1 from each purchase donated to Comic Relief.

The Winsford branch joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.

More than £78 million for Red Nose Day 2015.

Comic Relief spends the money raised by Red Nose Day, which takes place every two years, to help those in need across the UK and Africa.
