A MAN has been charged after a cannabis farm worth a potential £4 million was uncovered in Little Budworth, near Winsford.
Anthony Edward Robinson, 48, of Mill Lane, Little Budworth has been charged with production of a Class B drug, possession of a Class B drug and assaulting a police constable.
Robinson appeared at South Cheshire Magistrates on Friday, February 20, and was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, March 3, for a plea and case management hearing.
The charge relates to a warrant that was conducted at an address on Mill Lane, Little Budworth at approximately 9.00am on Wednesday, February 18.
Once inside, officers from Western Rural Neighbourhood Policing Unit discovered a haul of 1750 plants, which officers say could potentially make £4 million a year.
A woman, 52, who was arrested in relation to the incident in Little Budworth, has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
