A PARENTAL advice session in Winsford has launched to help families share their experiences with each other.

The weekly 'Happy Tots' drop-in sessions, which will take place at Winsford Library, is aimed at families who have children from birth up until the age of five.

Each month Happy Tots will focus on one theme such as weaning, dental care, common childhood illnesses, relationships, play, parenting styles, safety, development, sleep, behaviour and more.

The long term aim of the sessions will be to branch out to the most vulnerable families in the area.

Health visitor Rachel Frampton said: “The information delivered by the Health Visiting team is evidence-based and current so families can be reassured that the information being shared with families is appropriate.

“If families took the time to come to Happy Tots, it would enable families and the community to take ownership of what information is delivered in their local area.

“It also gives families the opportunity to support each other and share parenting tips.”

Throughout February, Happy Tots will focus on healthy lifestyles, looking at ways families can help improve the whole family’s lifestyle.

Health visitors are looking for input from families to decide what topics to cover in March.

The sessions will take place every Monday at Winsford Library from 11.00am until 12.30pm.
