A MAJOR road in Winsford will be closed for five days due to repair works because of the recent bout of extreme winter weather.

Clive Lane in Winsford and Clive Green Lane in Stanthorne will be closed for five days from Monday, 12 January.

The closure will allow carriageway patching works to be undertaken safely, following increased damage to the road surface over the winter period.

The road will be closed between the A54 Middlewich Road in Winsford and the A530 Nantwich Road in Stanthorne.

Due to the low bridge at the Wallange Aquaduct in Middlewich, traffic will be diverted via the A530 to Nantwich, A500, A51, A49 & A54.

Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents, with traffic officers on hand to guide traffic through the works.
