A WINSFORD charity raised an eye-bulging £35,000 at their annual Christmas concert.

The NeuroMuscular Centre’s glitzy and glamorous evening was hosted by celebrity president Matthew Kelly, who brought with him a host of stars to help the night shine.

The annual concert raised £35,000 for the NMC, which provides a range of services and specialst advice for adults with Muscular Dystrophy and other neuromuscular conditions.

A spokesman for the NMC said: “We were delighted to welcome back the wonderful Robert's Bakery Band and The Queen's School Chamber Choir to get Christmas off to a cracking start.

“We also launched a county-wide Choir Competition for Primary School children between the ages of 7 and 11, kindly sponsored by Dawsons Music in association with Chester's Dee Radio 106.3.

“The winning choir was the King's Junior School in Chester, who performed at Spirit of Christmas 2014 in front of the 950-strong audience and will also receive a digital piano for their school.

“Thank you to all our sponsors and advertisers, the Queen's School chamber choir, the King's Junior School, Robert's Bakery Brass Band, NMC staff and volunteers and of course everyone who bought a ticket for the event.”
